Who is the best delta blues musician, in your opinion?!
Question: Howlin Wolf is definitely Delta and he's always been up there for me.
And can I count Son House as Delta?
Who decides who's in what genre & subcategory anyway?

Many people with say, "Robert Johnson" and I dont' blame them. However, my favorite delta blues musician is Muddy Waters. (Before he moved to Chicago, Muddy was as delta as they come) Check out his "Plantation Recordings"
I agree with billy, Robert Johnson May have been the Father of the delta blues but Muddy waters was the best.
Robert Johnson.
Muddy all the way. Take a listen to his early recordings and see how he kept growing.
I'm going to go with a Hill Country bluesman (Still in the Delta), and say RL Burnside. I know he's not Waters or Johnson, but he is my favorite.
For me its a three way tie between Son House, Charlie Patton, and their protege-Robert Johnson. Honorable mention to Tommy Johnson, who also predates Robert.
