Doesn't mid-90s pop punk sound 1000 times better now?!

Question: Back in the mid-90s, great bands like Green Day, Rancid, Blink-182 and the Offspring were "selling out" and getting really popular. At the time, they were really poppy and juvinile. Yet now, if you listen to "Pop Punk" bands like Fall out Boy, Sum 41, Panic at the Disco, etc, the old ones sound so good. Why?

Wow, dude I could not agree with you more!!!!

I'm scared that in 10 years, Fall out Boy will be actually considered punk!

and how can some people group Blink 182 with fall out boy, panic at the disco, and all of those other crappy pop bands!!!!!?!?!?! Read Blink 182s biography and its really interesting. I mean they started out as one of the biggest bands in the punk scene back in the 90's touring with Pennywise and stuff!

Because nobody can match the popularity of bands like Green Day.

get this straight green day has sold out by being politiical its okay to be a little but they think they are bono sum 41 rancid and the offspring were never pop they were punk people liked alot fall out boy is just a ******* queer singing panic at the disco is the same way

That's the way it always happens. People look back on it, and remember how good the music was, and how they were so soaked up in the band's image that they forgot how good the music is.

Because you are getting older.
Same story every generation,
You hate/dislike your parents music and they hate yours.
Also, somethings just get better with age, some don't.
Punk rock was better in the 70's than the 80's.
The bands making music now also have more to inspire them.

beacause green day was so good the everyone like them including fickle pop fans so now that the pop crowds have moved on the songs seem way better panic and FOB will be the same way

and green day IS the next U2

No. It will never sound good. Will always be very, very bad.
