I'm with Indie Me on this one. Bands get labelled as emo just because they look a certain way. Emo is about the lyrics and often the way the singer sings the songs. I prefer to judge music by how good or bad it sounds and not by the label someone put on it. There are good and bad emo bands just like there are good and bad examples of bands in whatever genre you pick.
Oh, back to the question (!) I don't think MCR are emo at all!

I never said they were emo. I just think they have REALLY annoying fans.

2. Lame haircuts
3. Whiney high-pitched voice
4. Whiney lyrics
5. Pop-punk guitar riffs (very easy to play)
6. Ridiculously long song titles
7. Make remarks on stage that question their sexuality
8. Fans are primarily made up of 14 year old girls
9. Claim they aren't emo
All these things = EMO

Make bland videos that make you feel like you're eating a tire sandwich. Look at "Welcome to the Black Parade" (YUCK!) and "I Don't Love You."
I like emo personally and i think they are emo because they love black but i cant complain because if you open my wardrop dozens of black and red clother will fall out. True story!!!

They basically started the whole mainstream 'emo' genre over the last few years.
They've just seemed to adopt the 'emo' label.
