um...take a chill dude.......rock is violent as well...anyway, why do we care bout what they say..hip hop is fine..I don't know why your so scared...just chill..

stop it...

once Jay-Z is gone hip hop is gonna be in trouble
Nas will help and Eminem needs to come out with some new stuff
but ya gangsta rap or anykind of rap (besides beastie boys) has been weak for a while now

the spice girls are back, so watch out! they are the new craze!

recent artists have killed hip hop. It's people like us that understand what killed it. Now we need to revive it. But we are so consumed by shitty music..

your skippin over alot of people... Pun, Left Eye, Freaky Tah, Big L, Soulja Slim, Stack Bundles, Big Moe, HAWK... and I know i'm missin some

jin.....just stop

who is Sean Taylor? do you watch the NFL?

why are people so sad about his death? ok, lets forget the fact that at age 24 he was one of the best safeties in the NFL, that he was turning his life around for the better...forget the fact that the NFL is losing one of their best young players, try feeling sad for the fact that he's leaving behind a girlfriend and an 18th month old baby girl, try feelin sorry for the fact that a 14 year old girl is losing her brother, and that a father is losing his son..sure shootings happen often..idk, maybe its cuz u live in the midwest, but regardless of what team u like; you cant even understand the impact his death had on this area unless u live here...redskins fans-and non redskins fans, it was a huge loss

Forgot Dilla...

well if Jay-Z dies..Im not gonna lie Ill be so gutted. Oh and if Nas died as a self-proclaimed Nas stan I'd probably lose it.

I dont want to say whos next but all I know is death comes in three esp in entertainment it seems.

hahaha We have to stay stong through this my fellow hip-hop lovers..stay strong. We have Jay Electronica [look this guy up. You will not be disappointed], Saigon [even though he's a quitter], Beanie Sigel still, Outkast, Wiz Khalifa..Im not gonna give up on this genre. I cant.

So dont be scurred Lol. We shall overcome. Huzzah!

It's a fact

tupac is still alive yo. and in no way is hip hop dead. mainstream hip hop SHOULD be dead, but unfortunately there are plently more words left in the english language to replace the words '***' 'boobs' 'sex' etc., and more sucky "rappers" voices coming out just waiting to be synthesized until they sound like they came straight out of a video game cause they CAN'T SING A NOTE..

underground hip hop will prevail. f*** MTV and BET, it's not the only place you're going to find hip hop. look for yourself.. THINK for yourself.

i'm not talking about the classics here, i'm talking about the bulls*** that comes out today. there are definitely the greats of hip hop that will never be forgotten.
biggie, easy-e, and pimp c can't be replaced. that's the bottom line. they came and they lived and they died.

try out some: aesop rock, atmosphere, eydea & abilities, brother ali, pigeon john, busdriver, abstract rude, MF doom, cannibal ox, vast aire, immortal technique, P.O.S., sage francis, murs, jurassic 5, jedi mind tricks, facecandy, devin the dude, abzorbr, kris krane, sector 7 sandwitch, mr. lif, and i could name a million more..

you should check out the project blowed dvd's or cd's as well. there's so much more out there than that s*** on tv!! tv lies, and only shows what the government wants your enslaved *** to see. don't be a product to the world, and start with music....!

I love how you added pimp c to that list. I think bun should be on that list too.

and as for whose next?....good question....

My vote goes to Z-ro.

To be honest, hip-hop/rap has lost a lot of its pizzaz. Don't get me wrong, there are some artists out here who are doing their thing, but its not the same. I find myself now listening to more hip-hop than rap more than I ever had in my life. I have been in love with rap ever since the 80's, when I heard ll cool j say mama said knock you out and the next thing I knew, big daddy kane and ll was at it, beefing on a track- and that is where they left it.

And it was raw, no shooting, no fighting none of that, just all on WAX! Back then, beefing was done in a effort to make rap popular and that is what it did, the right way. That is how I want to remember rap. Not with a hook basically taking over a whole song, or you having to have a dance to go with your song becuase you know its weak, so to distract everyone's attention, you put a dance with it, masking the truth that your lyrics are SORRY. Come on now.

All these new rapppers tryna advance is weak. They can't even ride a beat!!!! In a way, I agree with Nas, but in a way I don't. I feel that rap is dead, and basically hip hop is taking over. Andre 3000, common, de la soul, kanye, as such, they doing their thing. As for rap.......I don't think this next generation will ever know what "true" rap is or was.......

Chamillionaire has been keepin it real lately. Check out mixtape messiah 3 and his new album ultimate victory. Umm. Jadakiss is fresh and so is shells.
