Does anyone have friends who act!

Question: Like they wanna be black when they are not because they are heavily into hip hop? I don't judge people by the way they act all the time and there is nothing wrong with listening to hip-hop, but some people take it to extremes and try to be something they are not. There is nothing wrong with listening to hip-hop and gimmicking for fun but be yourself and dont try to be something that you are not.

lol, I know what you are saying. Some people try to be hardcore because they see rappers who happen to be black act like gangsters and think it is cool. Some people take hip-hop to seriously! lol lol

So you are basing actions on a particular race, saying only black people do this, so those that aren't black and do this are 'trying to be black'?
GG Dumbass

when you said..
"be yourself and dont try to be something that you are not"

You have a point there...

but there is no such thing as "acting black".

They (your friends) have a lot of passion
for the Hip Hop Culture.
If they want to dress or act in a certain way... it's their life...
that's their prerogative.

i hear what your saying. they get so wrapped up in the image and the sh!t and next thing ya know they walking around acting like lil wanye. ive seen it loads of time and its funny as hell but they will grow out of it.

Please, explain to me how one acts "black".
So, I guess if a black person listens to Toby Keith and wears a cowboy hat they're trying to be white, because we all know only white people are supposed to do that. Last time I checked there wasn't a race requirement for being into rap/hip-hop culture (or any other for that matter).
You should really work on trying not to stereotype people.

Yeah I know what you are trying to say its just you are not wording it right to the point that people will understand and not be offended. Hip-Hop is for everyone but some people that are not of it's hardcore culture do try to imitate the lifestyle when they really dont know anything about it! Black, white, etc.

Yes I do know people like that, where I live there's a lot of native people, 99.99% try to act black. I have a haitian fiance and I'm white white as rice in a glass of milk but I still act country as hell.

the problem here is that the music industry has made the mistake of calling the music hip-hop sometimes. The music is RAP music, not hip-hop. Hip-hop is the culture. a person who is into just rap and acts "black" as you say it is misguided. However, a person who is heavily into hip-hop should "act black" because it is a culture, and partaking of the culture will of course affect your lifestyle and the way you act. this is neglecting the fact that you have assumed that you called it acting black or wanna be black when being black has absolutely nothing to do with it.

its not hip-hops fault that they are dominated by blacks. but if you see some hip-hop chicanos riding lowriders and all that, would you say they "wanna be blacK" and "act black"? is calling each other homie, and saying word up and shizzle nizzle and all of that exclusively for blacks?

like wangsters...ya their stupid...hehe
