I wrote some new lyrics, what do you think?!

Question: Alright, so my friend and I hammered out the music part of the song and we changed some of the lyrics.
Verse
Chorus
Verse
Chorse
(yeah, pretty simple )
Verse

4 in the morning, wasted another night
4 in the morning, wasting away my life
walking in the night, under a full moon
walking through this life, the sun will come up soon
streetlights glow heavy on the rain-soaked road
please help me, lift this heavy load

Chorus

Help me, I've got to learn how to fight
Fighting, the strings that hold me, up like a kite

I still need to finish another half a chorus and another verse, but what do you think of the new version? I'm personally a little dissappointed about this finished product (about 50 50, music vs. lyric). The lyrics don't seem deep enough for me, but, rock isn't supposed to be too deep. Perhaps I'll put my deep lyrics into another song.

Those are pretty good lyrics. I disagree with what you said though- rock music can be pretty deep. I recommend you listen to The Approaching Curve by Rise Against. It's absolutely amazing. As for your lyrics, it seems like the song progresses into deeper and deeper meaning. I would say keep going with that and don't be afraid to open up a little more.

Good...

the verse is good, but the part about the kite detracts from the mood of the rest of the lyrics. :) maybe something about puppet strings or something instead? idk. kite just doesn't work there.

sweet lyrics, im gonna steal them. =)

I like them. They're very good.

But no, rock music can be deep.
It just depends on how much meaning it has.

I like. :0
