They are one of the few bands around today with both playing talent (amazing saxes/horns) and writing talent (I'm pretty sure their songwriter, Tomas Kalnoky, is god). Also, it's not depressing crap like you hear on the radio today, and I can guarantee you 100% that their live performance will change your life.

Ayreon. The most amazing thing you will ever hear. Each album is a story, and not some crappy thing that was thrown together in two seconds, a very thought-out story. It's one man, Arjen Lucassen, who gets together a bunch of different singers and musicians, and records albums. The albums are a sort of Prog-SciFi-Metal, a heavier version of Pink Floyd if you will, and don't let the metal part scare you off, all metal isn't screaming and gore. You have to get a whole album though, not just a couple of songs, cause you have to listen through each cd to get the story. I would reccomend the albums Into The Electric Castle, or The Human Equation.
