Question: What is the name of the artist or musical group that sings the following: Well tonight I thank God it's them instead of you? This is only a small part of the lyrics. I heard a musical montage of 5 songs altogether, and this is all I could pick up out of the parts they had the artists singing. I've gone on the internet and looked up pop, rock, and every other category of music, and none of the ones I tried ended up working. I think each artist or musical group only has 2 words. Hope this is enough for you to go on. I need to have the answer no later than 11:00 p.m. Sunday evening.

I think that from "Do They Know It's Christmas?" from the Band Aid album - not really a specific band or musician but a bunch of musicians (Sting, U2, etc.). It was written by Bob Geldof of the Boomtown Rats though.
