What are the differences and similarities between drum synthesis and regular dru!


Question: I'm doing a contrast and compare paper for english and it's due TOMORROW!! i've had a very busy weekend and i've got somewhere to be tonight and i ain't gonna be home until about 10:00 pm or something like that. so yeah and i don't even know wth a synthesis drum is so yeah needless to say it would've been a whole lot easier to do my homework b4 the last minute. I was rushed to pick a topic for this paper too so i just blurted out something that sounded good so yeah.

Well, drum synthesis plays the same sound over and over for different pads, it can read the force that you hit the pad with and adjust the sound accordingly, and it can usually be plugged into some headphones for quiet playing. Acoustic drumsets have subtle variations with each hit, the common consensus is that the acoustic sets sound more real because of this. Just check wikipedia for more on it, those are the best contrasts I could come up with. They are the same in the sense that they are usually set up in the same way, as well as containing the same types of drums.

You mean electric drums vs acoustic drums. Well it's pretty simple, but look it up on wikipedia if you need to write a full-blown paper on it.
