Are you a "country music convert"? Was there ever a time in your life !

Question: yes. i used to hate it. despise it. refuse to listen to it. then i started dating a guy who listened to country, and would usually turn it off when he tried to make me listen to it, but every now and then i put up with it. he listened to allen jackson's drive cd alot, and i coulnd't stand it. then we broke up after two years, and i was missing him, and i just started crying thinking, whos gonna make me listen to country lol, so for a few months i listened to it 'in the closet' when noone was around i'd turn on the country station. then i 'came out' to my best friend and told her she has to start listening to it with me lol...we still listen to it and that was four years ago

yeah actually i hated country music until i heard the song all my friends say on cmt and carrie underwood's before he cheats.

Only as a youngster, I heard a collection of Patty Loveless songs and have been hooked ever since.

Yes when I was in my teens and early 20's I detested country music. I was too twangy for me LOL!! But, I ended up dating a drinking man and he listened to country non stop. After awhile the depression just grows on ya I guess, because now I like it :)

I've never liked country music, but by boyfriend does, so now I put up with it. I don't enjoy it, but because he does, i hold in my urge to throw up everywhere.

My cuntry *****, it wont go down

I hated country music when I was in School. I now like all the old classics and don't really think the new main steam country as country.

I am :) Though I'm not so into it as other genres,

I used to hate it when I was younger and My babysitter would play it in the car, I found it annoying and stupid than-but when my sister went to college and brought back a few mix CDs, I slowly found myself dragged in xP

"Baton Rouge" is in one of my top ten lists for Favorite songs though. I don't expect myself to be throwing on a cowboy hat anytime soon. :)

I was raised on Country music but in my twenties I had a phase of not really liking it. Now I'm more of a musical eclectic.

when I was young.

NO. EVERYDAY.

I grew up on country music my older brother and all his friends would play pool at the house and they would play George Jones, Waylon & Willie, Tammy Wynette etc etc. and it just grew on me. When I got into school I started drifting away from it and got into Ac/Dc..Van Halen and all the other bands from the 80's. After that I started listening to country again and now I listen to country about 98% of the time. With Tejano and Rock following close behind.

I wouldn't get caught dead listening to C&W in the 60s and actually used to watch a local show with some redneck hicks just to laugh at how corny it was. But it had a lot of musical hooks in it that stayed with me nonetheless and I ended up buying some C&W albums in the 70s when it became cool. To this day my favorite C&W album is John Fogerty's Blue Ridge Rangers, which actually conjures up the odor of fresh manure when I play it.

By the way, you kids have no idea what authentic C&W sounds like. To start with, you record the entire track at one time with a single mic hanging down from a boom and......oh nevermind, you won't believe it.

Yeah, I was raised on it & then rebelled for a while & came back. I think it's kid thing to do, ya don't wanna get caught listening to the parents music, too cool. Besides, look at the rock in the late 60s, early 70s, sounded more country than much of the new country now! well, except the teeny-bopper scene or heavy metal.

Nope, I've loved country music my entire life. Ya there was a time when i didn't listen to it as much as i did at other times but i still listenend to it. i think that country music is the sound track to peoples lives. that's why i love it so much....plus i'm a country girl so it kinda comes with the title...lol

yeah actually I HATED country music, like I didnt like any thing until about a year ago I hear "must be doin soething right" by Billy Currington I loved that song and then I thought to myself "hey, if I like this one song and its a country song well then I might like some other one" so It was all down hill from ther now thats all I mostly listen to is country I love anyhing from Hank williams jr to garth brooks to kenny chesney, I love it all

yes! when i was in school I hated country music. I despised it in fact, I made fun of it all the time. Then I started cleaning cars when I was 18 at a local car dealer. The guy I worked with played in a punk/rock band and listened to all kinds of music, except country, so he kinda opened my eyes to all genres. The one day I got to where I wanted to hear the song "King of the Road". I didn't know who sang it, but I knew my parents had it on vinyl, that much I could remember. I finally found a boxcar willie record with it on it. I went to the cd store and they could not get that record but they ordered one we thought it might be on. It wasn't on it, but it liked the songs. I then found a two pack cd that had it and loved the songs on it. Later on I found a three Hanks cd for 2 bucks, and I bought it just so I could torture a guy bc he didnt have it and he was a huge Junior fan. I ended up likeing it and found a Hank III cd. Loved it got his second one, loved it and went and saw him live, and was addicted. Now there is so much country I love, the real country, the classic players. Now I can't imagine myself not ever likeing country.

No conversion here--I have always been country as long as I can remember.

i LOVE country .
i had grown up with this music and fallen away for a few years..
big and rich concer changed my freakin life...im addicted

Nope love it all the time I've been alive.... biggest issue with me is I burn out on the songs too quick.. but love country with rock being a close second...

And that song is actually "calling Baton Rouge" by Garth Brooks (I live kind of close to there and the stations there wear that song out)

But a good song for those converts I think is Ray Scott's "My kind of music" (talking about dating a woman who couldn't stand country music)

Nope. Not a convert. Raised on it and some old rock music. I've listened to country and old rock my whole life. Nope, except for this newer stuff, never not liked country. and I don't much care for the newer rock and pop music. either.

Yes, when I was young I totally disliked country---but listening to Dwight Yoakum changed that!!!!!!!

Always and FOREVER!

I've loved country music ever since I can remember. My parents listened to it all the time and did until they passed away. I do like 50's rock & roll too but classic country is what I live on.
