Ok guitar players, do I really need that humidifier ?!

Question: I've got a Taylor acoustic, and I heat with wood exclusively.
The guy at the local music shop keeps pushin' a humidifier on me, and it's cheap enough, but I've got advice to just take the guitar in the b-room while I shower. (yes I shower daily)

I've been playing guitar ( and getting paid for it) for 42 years. I've never used a humidifier. I keep all my instruments on stands in my studio. The only time they're in the case is when I'm transporting them to or from a gig.
