all the people who think that I would ever go "woah" to a lil wayne punch/metafor have probably never heard GZA, Immortal or Vakill...they'll make you go "woah"
I totally agree with you, but my friend loves him. I can't explain why. He is a terrible singer with terrible songs.
He's pretty much a perfect example of a cookie cutter rapper with no distinguishing lyrical talent and lame overdone club/hood music videos

bcause ppl view him as the best rapper in terms of freestyling and flow and punchlines, personally i cant listen to rappers who lack substance completely, lil waynes trying to start rapping more bout real ish so whateva, he's not even close to the best though

To the Lil Wayne haters, I understand where you're coming from when you say he's over hyped (because he is) but what I don't understand is how you can't see his lyrical talent. The guy releases mixtapes like he's tupac, granted his mixtapes don't always have that hot ****, but he's more likely to have some good stuff on there than not. His metaphors and are hot.
As far as the Jay-Z hater goes, your dumb. Jay has been flowing nice for so many years and finally some are getting why he is fire, the real fans know why, but the mainstream fools are finally getting why Jay is the best rapper alive. I'm not even going to get into it in this thread because it's about Lil Wayne.

i don't hate lil wayne but i don't like his music because it doesn't make any since sure he has punch lines but even thats starting to get old maybe if he powered are nose as much as he do his music will begin to make sense

But if you would "understand" rap. His metaphors in his lyrics are things that you wouldn't think of off the top of your head. You'd listen to a couple of his bars and be like "Whoa". And plus he flows with his songs. Half of the song he does are freestyles and he hardly writes any of his songs on paper. He goes into the booth, and just starts rapping.
If you don't understand now you'll never understand. And if you don't listen to rap...the I see why you don't like him. His looks...no he doesn't look good. But his lyric game is very good compared to other rappers. He also makes a lot of money.
*edit* - To the people below me. Never said anything about you having to like Lil' Wayne. If you don't like him then don't listen to him and continue on listening to the artist's you listen to. In my opinion he's the only one that's worth buying cd's. Rappers besides T.I., Jay-Z, Lil' Wayne and all of the big MAJOR artists....nobody else is worth buying and listening...compared to these wack rappers. People try so hard to get to where Lil' Wayne is but it's not happening. People "soup up" his ego too much.
And don't hate the guy. If you don't like him don't listen to it. Either way he's still making money.
