Listen to the Oratorios of Haendel and the Cantate of J.S. Bach if you want Christian Music at its' best. I suggest the works of the latter more since they are more profound musically, rich in contrapuntal elements, and are less commercial than Haendel. There are also the masses of Mozart and Beethoven. Even if you are not Catholic, these works are very solemn and divinely beautiful.
Oratorios by the way are the so called "opera" equivalent for Sacred Music. Opera is a secular form of music. Also don't confuse Bel Canto style of singing e.g. Pavarotti, Domingo as opera. Opera is an entire theatre piece set into music with sceneries, the singers conveying the story and sung in Bel Canto style. The Phantom of the opera for example is not an opera, but a Musical. La traviata, La Boheme, Tosca, Don Giovanni, Norma are operas.

Opera music? Try anything from Carmen. Toreador; Habanera; and the Overture by Bizet are very good and famous.
I also enjoy the music from the Marriage of Figaro by Mozart.
Or Don Giovanni also by Mozart.
Or Madame Butterfly by Puccini is pretty good.
Anything by Handel he was a christian and his music shows, Joseph Haydn, Johann Sebastian Bach and Felix Mendelssohn try their music as well
