It dosen't follow every single bar, but I think it has a message in the video. "He was only seventeen, in a mad mans dream." Everything that happened to Slick Rick (in the video) was because of the 2 robbers. It's kind of like the boy that was mislead by the other little boy and ended up in a bunch of stuff. I could be wrong, but I guess he left it open for interpretation.

Edit: On the other hand, the video and the song seem to have different endings. Slick Rick gets away (in the video), and in the song, the kid ends up getting shot. Interesting.

yeah, the lyrics make sense and the video...The video kinduv compliments the lyrics, but what video that you know, fits the song lyric by lyric?...ANT: who sampled that beat? it's at the tip of my tounge, but I cant remeber...

EDIT: thanks! cause I was going to keep thinking about it all night lol

well... does any of M.I.A video make sense to you? and we don't even care some of marylin manson's video make sense to us or not... we just watch it in summer for sweat because it's scary... plus eminem and D12 video my band... we just watch it because it's funny...

Yeah, it makes sense to me. Sure, it doesn't follow the lyrics to the letter but it does illustrate a portion of the lyrics which is essentially the message/moral of the story: "Just another case about the wrong path. Straight and narrow or your soul gets cast." It's all about choices and how one choice is kinda predictive of the future - he may not have robbed the bank but he kept the money, which got him into jail. And he eluded the police and broke out of jail which relates to the lyrics in that we're seeing a time where law is being disregarded. Then there's the whole justice issue on the part of the police. I see the vid as presenting more of an underlying meaning/ metaphor than literal. Plus there's also the irony of it's title and him telling the story to adults. I think I'll just stop now before I start rambling.
