Is Tokio Hotel a real band?!
Question: Do they write their own songs and play instruments and stuff? 'Coz I read their page in Wikipedia and it's kinda incomplete... And one bit says that they were in a talent show of some sort, I guess that's where I started to doubt their authenticity as a real band (real as in not put together by some record company).
Plus, their band bio from their official web site keep talking about a "script" which made me all the more suspicious.
Don't get me wrong, they sound good and all but I just really wanna know what their deal is.

yeah, Tokio Hotel is a real band. they can actually play their instruments (pretty well in fact) and when Bill was younger, he helped to co-write the songs, but now that they are older and more gown up, they write their own songs. (i think they do help to get the translations into english though, but the original songs are their own)
the thing about the talent show was (according to Bill) a bet he lost and that was the thing he had to do. Tokio Hotel was already a band before Bill went onto the talent show (they were known as Devilish then) at first, it was just a dare and then they did hope it would help promote their band if Bill won (Bill came in second) but it didnt.
anyway, you really shouldn't go by what wikipedia says because half the stuff on there is relativly untrue...or not the entire fact.
Based on this, they'd have to be real. AMG doesn't do profiles of fictitious bands.

Yes, from what I know they are a real band. Bill has been writing songs since age 7. They translate their German songs to English themselves. As for put together by some record company, I highly doubt it. And I believe they were on a show called Star Search... it's something like that, but I don't think they won. I really like them! I wanted to get their english album but it's only available online (not through iTunes either) and that's a bit dissapointing.
