I am trying to find the name of a popular classical christmas song or who plays !

Question: Ceremony of Carols was written for treble choir (plus the soloists and the harp), not just boys choir. And, as the other two posters said, it could be any of a multitude of songs.

Now, there is a popular song by the rock orchestra group Trans-Siberian Orchestra called "Christmas Canon". It's a cover of Pachelbel's Canon in D, with a children's choir singing over the music.

Here's a video of it: http://youtube.com/watch?v=kGrhzCgy_bg

Do you know any of the words to this song that would help to find the name and artist.

I agree with Victoria that it would be helpful to have some lyrics, but in the absence of them, one possibility comes to mind: "Ceremony of Carols" by Benjamin Britten, an exquisite piece written for boy's choir and harp. An exceptionally well written description of the work can be found at: http://www.musicweb-international.com/br...

I hope this is helpful.

EDIT:

Thank you for the correction, Muse.

It could be Tchaikovsky's 'Waltz of the Snowflakes' (from 'The Nutcracker'). Look it up on youtube under 'Nutcracker snow pas de deux and waltz of the snowflakes'. The bit with the children's choir comes in at around 06:22.
