Band/Music depression?!

Question: I started a band 8 months ago after I got stabbed in the back by my old band of 4 years. Unfortunately music has been running on a low cycle since we only have 2 members (I play guitar and bass, the other guy sings and plays drums on recordings.) I want to get the band playing live but we can't do it with just the 2 of us. Which brings me 2 my next problem, no one wants to play the type of music we play (Black Metal). In a way its nice because I have the sence that we are playing for the love of this music and not to be popular; at the same time it's frustrating when band members run scarce. Basically I'm just venting, this isn't a problem that can be solved with a simple answer. So if you've had a similar experience I'd like to hear about it.

DEFINATELY!!!
black metal is my all time fave

i started a band last year, and when they asked what type of music we are playing, i told them. they all looked at me weird and ran off-- literally

ever since i have tried putting a band together-- im the vocals, and i have a drummer

but it seems no-one wants to play black metal!!!

I've never had an experience like that before, but do you know why people don't want to play black metal? Is it possible that many are actually confusing black metal for something else? Or maybe teenagers that start bands are so influenced by popular mainstream music of today that they aren't willing to play anything else.

Anyway, I hope you find another member. Unless the bass is really important to your songs, I don't think it's too necessary when playing live. Another thing you could do is play the drum track and have one guy play bass and one guy play guitar. I've never had this experience as I've mentioned, so I don't know how this would work out.

Satryricon do it well with 2 members.
