Answers: Sum 41 (I think I've heard that it's something that took 41 days)
Blink-182
New Found Glory
Box Car Racer
Limp Bizkit
Yellowcard
So try and do your best and tell me whatcha know

Sum 41 - "The name Sum 41 comes from the day they first saw the Warped Tour. It was the 41st day of summer" before their senior year in high school.

Blink 182 - The band was originally supposed to be named Blink, but there was an Irish band that had the name first. Tom, the lead singer, claims that the number "182" isn't significant.

New Found Glory - The band name was originally A New Found Glory. Jordan the vocalist and Steve the guitarist dreamt up the name while working in Red Lobster.

Box Car Racer - "The band's name comes from the B-29 Bomber which dropped the second wartime atomic bomb on Nagasaki, Japan. The plane's name was 'Bockscar'. Tom has said in an interview that he had seen the name misspelled as "Boxcar", and thusly, dubbed the band under that name for their music and lyrics pertaining heavily to love and war. He wanted the band to also have a three word name, another reason for the name 'Box Car Racer'".

Limp Bizkit - There are rumors for this one. The first guitarist, Rob Waters, said that his friend described his brain as a limp biscuit while high. Another rumor is that the band wanted the stupidest name possible. And Fred Durst had a dog named Biscuit that was limp. The last rumor I'll give ya is that there was a game called "Soggy/Limp Biscuit" where it would "involves guys jacking off onto a biscuit and the last one to ejaculate has to eat it."

Yellowcard - "...Mackin said the Yellowcard name comes from their affinity for drinking games. "It's a warning in the game of soccer. A couple of us used to play soccer back in the day. But where it really came from is when we were at parties and stuff, say a beer would spill or someone would do a party foul, we'd be like, 'Dude, you got a yellow card. One more and you're out.'"

i dk how anyof these got there names but i know how my chemicla romance got there name mikey was looking in a book or the news paper and saw chemical romance so they named it my chemical romance

Well since the person before me went of topic ...

Panic! got their name from a book or film or something and Fall Out Boy got their name because somebody screamed it out at a concert.
There the only ones I know.

You have to be inventive to come up with new names. I am unsure of the bands you have mentioned, but I can answer a couple of Australian bands and how they came up with their name.

28 Days - The time it takes to pay a parking ticket in Melbourne is 28 Days. One of the guys got nicked, so they called the band 28 Days.

Something for Kate - One of the guys went to the shops and had bread, milk, eggs on his shopping list. His dog is named Kate and he wanted to get her a toy. So he wrote on the list, Something for Kate. The name stuck.

Jebediah. The band are all massive Simpson fans, so they took the name of the founding father of Springfield.

The Cockroaches. When the band were living together in old houses in Sydney, the houses were infested with Cockroaches. They used that name. The Cockroaches have now split up and most of the guys became The Wiggles.

It's wierd how they get their names, but it's fun.

i don't know about any of them, but i know how pink floyd got their name.
they were buzzed and talking about these two singers named pink anderson and floyd council. someone mixed the names up and they became pink floyd.
i think sum 41 got their name from a tax form. but i'm not positive.
