I know there's plenty of traditionalists here, so what do you think of Josh !

Question: I have had a hard time getting away from the country classics but was told about Josh Turner and then gave him a listen on youtube. The song I listened to was Long Black Train. I liked it very much so I did go out and buy it. The CD I bought is pretty good and his deep baritone voice is pleasant to listen to. If I had not been told about him most likely I wouldn't have bought the CD or even listened to him. Now with that said he needs to try and stay in the country vein and not be trying to cross over or go pop.

MR. HOTTIE OF COURSE! HE HAPPENS TO BE FROM S.C. WHERE I LIVE

When he started out, O.K., but he has to "pop" up, if he wants to stay on "country" radio!!

Hey, I like his stuff!! But like all the new stars, (Carrie Underwood-"Jesus, Take The Wheel"....Rodney Adkins-"If your going through Hell"

They either do a "religious" song (and ain't a dang thing wrong with that) but then do something the opposite way,e.g. "Next Time He Cheats" is sorta hypocritical to me!!!

And other stars DO a traditional sounding song, and their next sounds like it sould be on a 70's rock album!!

(I'm Done, Thanks for letting me vent!!!) lol

he's pretty dang cool.

I really like him but I like traditional and "new" country.

I like him. He has a great voice, not all the new country is bad, there's a few that are really good. Some of the classic fans don't listen to the new stuff anymore, so they don't really know whats out there. I asked one of the classic fans to listen to Josh Turner, and he liked him, and went and bought his cd. I do love the classics too, but there is some good new out there too.

Cool singer; u gotta love his deep voice. & I like how he sings some of that gospel-influenced stuff like "Long Black Train," his debut hit. KUZZ doesn't shy away from that spiritual stuff.

I think he is just as beautiful as his voice. Prefer some of his songs more than others, but find the ones I don't like at first grow on me. Also, I am very impressed with him as a person, read an article somewhere that the lady in his 'your man' video was his wife (which is what I was trying to find out) because he didn't feel comfortable acting those scenes with another woman. Talk about faithful.

For some reason---Long Black Train-- got on my nerves every time I heard it. But with his talent, this kid could go pretty far. He is good and sounds more traditional than most of the new country that's out right now. If he can stick with the traditional sounding stuff he'll be alright. But if he gives in more and goes with the newer crap of country he's just gonna end up being another one of those new country wanna be old country singers who doesn't ----brain fart.

Hopefully, he will stick with the traditional stuff. He's good. and better than most of the stuff that's out there right now. I would go so far as to say that even the pop music sounding crap is he does is better than most of that crap that's there now.
I don't buy any of the new junk. But if I had money to waste, I would buy these few singles mentioned below. Only because he is better than most of the new stuff. But, there's no money to waste.
My favorites--

Your Man
