What Happened To Country Music?!

Question: The same basic thing that happened to rock. "Video killed the radio star" was never truer. The music industry became more interested in the look than in the sound.

It was called "Murder On Music Row" !!!

Yeah I know it has gotten so popular now that it is pretty impressive. Singers like Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley have had cross over success and Grammy creditability this is good for this genre

its called making country pop. It is dying. Thank God for people like Bob Wayne, Hank Williams III, Wayne Hancock, and so on for keeping the spirit of real country alive

It's changing, like other forms of music have. Whether it has changed for the better or for worse is up to your opinoin. Just look at the way rock has changed over the years. Elvis and the Beatles wouldn't even be considered rock today if they were to start out in music today. Tastes in music change every generation, and forms of music change every generation as well.

Garth Brooks happened to country music.

lots of things have happened to country music, some good (emerson drive, josh turner, and some others) and some bad (sugerlang, carrie underwood, and others). but thats my opinion.

Just people trying to make more money. Yeah, there have been some crossovers and those guys walking around in the nudie suits, but I think country music is still alive. Listen to Kevin Fowler or my good buddy out in LA - Carter Falco. Those 2 guys are real country for sure. So it is still alive but yep what we see on TV is not always country music. Enjoy!

Toby Keith, Alan Jackson, Brad Paisley, Brooks & Dunn, Trisha Yearwood, Keith Urban, Tim McGraw and Kenny Chesney make a good thing great.

The way I look at it, the next generation took over and it became ROCKABILLIE music. The Beat to the music and sound just moved over closet to POP and Rock&Roll music!!
There are still those that record what sounds like Country Music and they keep it alive the way it is to be!!

nothing bad

The cross over country of the 80's asaulted the pure country music.
The new country blended the pop-soft rock of the 60's-70's with the Nashville sound. The birrth of new country .

It's been put on shelf and forgotten about. Mean while the likes Big & Rich, Tim McGraw, Faith & a several others have been forced upon us.

It's called change and progress. If things stayed the same in country music all the time....no one would listen..or at the least, there wouldn't be any new listeners!

Pop!! goes the country.. It's all about the money now.

TAYLOR SWIFT (kick in the you know what)
CARRIE (underware)
.BIG AND (thick head)

TIM (mcGRAAA..this pants are too tight)

AND THE BIG WIGGS-STIFF COLLARED MORONS WHO DEMOLISHED MUSIC ROW!..OH YEAH AND $$$$$!

Hun, This is the new country music. It has changed from traditional but unfortunatley everyone loves this kind of music.
