Can you recommend an outstanding gospel/choir music CD?!
Question: I tune into Urban Jamz/other R&B internet stations at work (!) and sometimes they play the most chillingly excellent gospel singers/songs. You know people whose voices make you hold your breath and put goose pimples all over you. Choirs and sole singers, I don't mind. I've just looked through Amazon and they even have albums by Elvis Presley in the gospel bit! Save me...

If I were to recommend outstanding gospel albums...well...I'd never get off the computer! Instead, here is a list of artists that you can research. Anything gospel by Aretha is great and you'll be surprised about Elvis Presley...his gospel songs are awesome. Josh Grobin is also good.

Not sure if this is exactly what you're after, but check out what's known as Sacred music. By that I mean real 16th/17th century choral works. Names to look for are The Tallis Scholars, or The Sixteen Harry Christophers, they're on Amazon & you can preview them.
Fred Hammond is really good. Israel, Smokey Norful, Byron Cage, Yolanda Adams, Mary Mary, Kirk Franklin, Marvin Sapp, CeCe Winans, Donald Lawrence. The list is endless. But here are a few to help you get started and some of my favs.
