Have you ever noticed this about singing emotionaly...?!

Question: That you don't sing as well when you are being really emotional about a song, like if you're about to cry, it comes out bad.

But with just the right balance of emotion it can come out sounding amazing?

This is because singing is all about control. People who have lack of control of their nerves are usually the ones who don't sing well, even if they have a great voice. Now, there are those who sing well who have nerves, but they know how to control them.

Crying automatically makes your voice shiver, tears come, and the body breaks. In order to sing well, you have to be able to control your breath, your voice, your whole body connection. Crying therefore interferes with that control. and breaks up all that connection. This is why most singers are trained to sing with detached emotion, but not TOO much emotion. You don't want your performance to be wrapped up in too much of your own feeling, because you are responsible for presenting a good audible product to the audience.

If there is a good balance, it can. As a singer, you have to learn how to detach your personal feeling and bring more apathy verses sympathy to a song. Meaning, always remember the art first (the mechanics, dynamics, anything else to carry the vocal art itself), the emotion second. I would even call it acting. If you can do that, you will have a wonderful performance. Don't be a robot, but by all means be in control of you present. Good question!!!! :)

Oh and by the way, there is a future in singing. If I didn't sing, I wouldn't eat. :)

Yes exactly. I used to be a professional vocalist. But I gave up because there was no future in it. I still sing as a hobby. In a way if you sing lyrics that make you emotional, relate to it and be happy about it while you sing... I miss singing, the feeling you get when you are on the stage in front of a crowd in a dark auditorium with a bright light shining on you. And being able to hear your voice thorughout the concert hall. It's just a feeling that is almost divine.

me and my best friend sing avril alvigne hot real well and if we sing "when ur gone" it comes out bad cuz its kinda sad
