its what people are rapping about that causes damage to others. A lot of them rappers lie about who they are take 50 cent. Find out about the real 50 cent, yeah, that shot and terrorised people in his hood.
if someone is depressed or has slight mental health problems or has been smokin skunk or crack for some time, the negative lyrics in some rap music can cause these people to become more detached from mainstream. if you listen to glorified rappers chat about bitches and hoes day in day out, its only a matter of time before your veiws on women are altered. its the same with Grime music. Certain artists chat about running into your house and beating up ur mum. what is that all about!

its about time negative music should get no air time, but like the tune says ...Its alll about the benjamins baby.

its not...peoples minds are ruining rap

yea it is. like that soulja boy. the song i s so retarted but everybody loves the dance i love the dance but i hate it.lol

The grammatical content of your question should sum it up.

Its not, Bad Rap is.

There is always a bad part of every genre, country is just bad either way. :P

what are u saying?
rap isnt ruining anything..but when ppl come across as 'ignorant' it at times portrays rap in a negative light.

because some people say that it influences and changes how young people are.

first off - someone threw the bat at ozzy and he thought it was a toy bat so that's why he bit the head off, he spent the next 6 months getting rabies shots and donating money to animal charities...get over it!

second - most mainstream rap is about sex and drugs. most rock now days does have violence and sex in it but rock music gets a lot of people complaining about it like rap does so move on.

just read your own question. it answers more than you know.

yea it is. like that soulja boy. the song i s so retarted but everybody loves the dance i love the dance but i hate it.lol

it works on the part of the Brain that controls speech and spelling

Are you kidding? 98% of rap music degrades women by using the b-word, h** and chicken head. glorifying violence, gun use, aggresively pursuing listeners in a negative manner. convincing people that the only way out of hard times is to do what ever it takes, sell drugs or pick up a gun. rap music has taken a downword spiral since the the 70's 80's and early 90's. your asking how is it affecting peoples minds just listen to the lyrics and take of the headphones for a day and look at the age demographic that's listening to this music.

It has the ability to corrupt the youth.

You're right in what you're saying, and don't think people didn't disagree with rock back in the day. They did. During the fifties there were all kinds of anti rock protest groups. Elvis gyrating all over the stage was unheard of. Buddy Holly was outcast for playing such 'heavy' tunes.

I assume you're calling the late 60s-70s the age of rock when drugs got big? Drugs got popular on thier own, that can't be blamed solely on music.

Also, though rock does have heavy themes of "sex, drugs, and rock 'n' roll", it doesn't have themes like 1-8-7 on an Undercover Cop, or other themes likes "Smacking that all on the floor."

It's because rap isn't going anywhere. White people can afford to have rock because they are the priviledged race. We blacks are already a few steps behind and the last thing we need is some nonsense talkin about runnin from the cops, having babies out of wedlock and killing each other.

I mean, think about it. What kinda bullsh*t is that? Here we are trying to make it in a white man's world and we're preaching self hate, degrading our own women, and telling ourselves it's ok to break the law because....it aint our fault we grew up in the hood.

Why can little boys and girls learn the soulja boy dance in 5min yet can't learn how to read or write? We are too intelligent to be f*cking around like we do.

Yeah the beats are hard. Yeah it feels better to two step and hustle than it does to study and get good grades in school but you know what?

This is the white man's world. And we have to play by their rules.

Until we can succeed at their game, we will always be used like punks by the white man.

Once we beat them at their game then we can shape society how we want to. But this is not going to happen so long as we let the thug mentality destroy us from within.

These rappers are sell outs. They are selling out the black race for money in their own pockets. And we idolize them.

How logical is that? Think about it.

TO THE POOR BLACK GUY THAT POSTED ABOVE ME

STOP PLAYING THE RACE CARD, NOT EVERY WHITE PERSON IS A RACIST, YOU MAKE IT WORSE BY CRYING ABOUT IT.

most rap music songs are about expensive cars with big rims, big houses, having lots of women, lots of cash, people respecting you.

Now, you can either get this by studying for years so you get a well paid job, or you can go out and sell drugs and steal things . I know which one i would choose if i lived in a bad area with no oportunties with no one willing to help you.

We live in a fast pace world where people want everything right now and people are not afraid to go out and take it off someone else

i could barely read your question, i take it you spend too much time on the internet, rap doesn't make me say "goez on in da hood" i really don't see how putting a z instead of s is gangster its more like something a sixth grader would do. I listen to rap and hip hop but it is definitely going downhill
Soulja boy is as bad as it gets, no because that can't be considered rap.

I have a question for you why do people like you go out of their way to spell incorrectly. It's like most kids on myspace will spell their words wrong on purupose to sound Kool y@nowutim sayin
