Well, I do associate certain songs with certain people I know, but usually they are songs that I just love anyway. If it is someone I care about and that person has a favorite song, then anytime I hear that song I make the connection, even if I don't care for the song itself. But I guess you could do that with anything; a place, a certain flower, a book, a smell, an event, a stuffed animal, etc. The mental database has a way of making these ubiquitous connections to people through a number of sensory signals. Music being probably near the top of the list.

She Talks To Angels by The Black Crowes and Let Her Cry by Hootie and The Blowfish remind's me of a friend of mine,nice person,she just has problems at times.
Ya for sure. Especially love songs. Or someone can ruin a song for me- like for example my almost boyfriend and my song was "That's When I Love You" by Phil Vassar, now I almost puke when I hear it...
i think of my "father" when i hear songs like "i fu cking hate you" by godsmack....or whats that song by eminem like "you make me f ucking sick" .......im sure im not the only one who directs these songs to certain people.....
anytime i listen to certain rock/metal music i think of my older brother who got me into it......i owe him a lot for my good taste in music.....
