Is 16 to young to play sax and become GREAT at it?!

Question: No age is too young. That's the great thing about music! If you set your mind to it, practice daily, and possibly even take lessons, you could be GREAT! The biggest thing you have to learn (especially in jazz) is how to feel the music and express what you are feeling to your audience.
Practice makes perfect---don't get frustrated!
Good Luck and God Bless

NO.
My boyfriend started playing at 12, and he's fantastic at it.

Work hard with it.

Actually, it's a little old, not young. But even if you are already 16, you can still get great if you practice a lot and have natural skills.

Yeah. Souns like he or she is "wh*ore" sorry to say it.

no age is too young to try to play an instrument. but it takes alot of practive to become GREAT at it, just try harder and harder and maybe youll do good, but with time. just be patient, it wont come easily. it is possible

Not too young. Most musicians start at a much earlier age than 16. But you may be naturally gifted and can learn to play and become great at it. The little boy I nanny for has been taking piano lessons since he was 5 years old. He is naturally gifted and can play as well as most adults. My daughter started playing the alto sax at 10 years of age, and she is really good at playing it. Wanting to do this is half of learning how to play it.

It's a perfect age! And with practice, you can become great.
Be patient with yourself and keep up your passion to play the instrument.

16 is a great age to start to hone your craft..Harry Connick started at 16

No

Not at all. My nephew started playing the drums when he was three. Now, he plays the drums, keyboard and guitar. And he's a wonderful singer. He has his own band now.

I wouldn't think so, as long as you're devoted. Motivation and commitment are what hold people back from doing something great.

I remember watching So You Think You Can Dance, with the girl that only danced for 4 years, yet looked amazing. (mind you, i don't remember the girl, nor do i watch that show all the time). . . but yeah. This could be a bad example, but yeah...it takes time to accomplish things, and you have to stick with it if you want to make it work.

Whoever you're talking about, either you or somebody else that wants to play the sax and become great... I commend you for any efforts you shall put forth.

I also know that many colleges pay full ride scholarships for people to be put into their bands; like people doing sports. You could go to college for free, man!! lol
