Sadly yes. It is the emo/punk/pop version of all those irritating bands.
Even if this band drives me nuts, it does marginally inspire many French teens I know to pursue German studies. In that case, das ist gut.

Personally I have never heard of Tokio Hotel, but I do like Fall Out Boy. Just because a band is overrated doesn't mean that they aren't good. I will continue to like FOB even when they are not popular. Sadly, a lot of their fans aren't like that. They are only in it for the sake of liking a popular band, and that is the wrong reason.
Why compare bands they are both different in popularity
