What helps you write a song?!
Question: Im trying to write a song, and i just cant play out my feelings, i mean i know what i want to say, i just cant put it in words....

the best songs tell a story not just talk about feelings.
for example:
Bon Jovi--the idea is--she is going to leave me and it breaks my heart, i really hope we can patch it up
the lyric is--
"you used to live to say you love me,
Now you've got one foot out the door.
Then you turn around and ask me,
Do we got it anymore?"
Indigo Girls--the idea is that something that started insignificantly has turned into something really big
the lyric is
"The mississipi's mighty,
It starts in Minnesota.

there are hundreds of examples from the great song writers, the songs that people remember are the songs that tell a story.
ur everyday life
Just write, when I wrote songs, I used my past and what was happening in the present. Just write, make it like a poem, that always helped me.

i journal a ton and when i write in my jouranl its like i can't stop. one night (around 9 pm) i started to write and write and write....i didn't stop writing for like 4 hours! i than took what i wrote and made some of it into lyrics....
usually it is my every day life/struggles/joys/laughs/tears that inspires me to write a song
when i write i listen to music usually then while the music is playing write down what ever pops into my head. Most times its about my past and feelings towards that
my life.
