its actually easy.

im a singer myself though and have been singing since i was 7(now 16) but its kinda easy cuz i've been doing it for so long.

usually people who find it difficult(not to be mean) are tone-deaf....or have not had musical influence in their life.

[[its been proven!]] =)

Hi Delena--

Personally, I've noticed that figuring out and/or singing a harmony is relatively easy, but with a catch: For some reason, I can pick up on the upper harmony line (like a third or fifth above), but not the lower/root line. Tunes like "Down In A Hole" (Alice In Chains, from "Dirt" [1991]) or "Radio/Video" (System Of A Down, from "Mezmerize" [2005]) are prime examples.

Maybe because of being lead a guitarist and playing solos, I've gotten used to the higher-pitched notes, and perhaps as a result of that, unconsciously I'm singling out and isolating the upper harmony line... Who knows? :)

So there's the "interesting" part: perfect pitch on the upper harmony, tone-deaf for the lower harmony. Go figure!

At first, when I was only 13 I found it hard to sing in harmony. Now that I've been in chorus and have taken lessons on harmonization, it comes easily to me. I guess you have to learn it.

Harmony can be really easy and REAL hard all depending on what it is, you know.
Singing in 3rds for example is really simple while singing in random intervals is not. All harmony is different.
I find singing in high harmony is easier than singing in low harmony because its like easier to hear yourself or something.

Im in West Side Story and there is this BEAUTIFUL Duet between Anita and Maria. Its weird because I find both parts really easy, its cool, its like, they are both singing melody AND harmony.

If I know the song really well, I can pick out a harmony that sounds decent. But if it's a song I don't know as well, I can still do it, but it takes me a while. When I'm learning a new song in chorus (I sing alto) or something, I tend to kinda learn all of the parts and then I see how they all fit together.

Okay, so it might not be interesting, but I gave my answer.
