What does it mean when you have a bunch of b's(or flats) next to the treble !

Question: Does it mean the following notes in the measures are all flat keys??? I"m trying to play "how to save a lie" by the fray, and there are two flat signs in the beginning of each score. Thanks in advance. =]

Yes. Flat signs and sharp signs right next to the clef are the key signature. Whichever line or space a note would be on, that note would be played as indicated throughout the whole piece. For example, if there was a sharp sign on one of the f lines or spaces, that particular f would be played as f sharp for the whole piece.

I hope this helps you!

That's the "key signature"... it tells you which key the piece is in, and which notes are to be played as "flats" when they appear with no other notation throughout the score (i.e. if there are three flats in the key signature, the notes "B", "E", and "A" would be played as B-flat, E-flat, and A-flat - the piece is in the key of E-flat (or C minor, but that's another question!)

key signature.

they are the key signiture they tell you what key it is.

if it is a flat or a little b as you say you press the black note below the not it is on.

The flats or sharps occuring after the clef sign are the key signature to let you know the key of the song. Two flats is either Bb major or G minor. The performer is instructed to play the tones (in your case) B and E (in all octaves) flat unless the music specifies to do otherwise.

Thats is the key signature. Two flats would indicate B flat major or G minor. "How to save a lie" is not a piece of classical music - please ask questions like this on the pop forum, where they belong.

The flats on the key signature are on the same spaced or lined notes. For example B flat you can check on the fingering chart (if you have one). try to ask your music teacher (if you have one)he/she could tell you and help you.If you don't have a music teacher maybe you can ask your music teacher at school. you will do fine.
