Green Day - Jesus of Suburbia?!

Question: Okay, well. I'm not a dedicated fan of Green Day. I know all their singles and a few songs from random albums I'll admit, but I wouldn't say they are one of my favorite bands.

however, once "Jesus of Suburbia" came out when I was about 15 or 16 I like.. completely became obsessed with it. I respect that song so much, I don't know how, but I just think it's really really really (really) good.

I love long songs, too. That might be a reason. And just all the beats, and different singing, and bridges, and ahhhh.

Anyone else feels the same way?!?!?

If there's any other songs similar, with length, and with a storyline concept idea, suggestions would be cool! :]

thanks!

and who hates asking questions because of the 5 points deduction. I know I do. it prevents me from asking as many questions as I would like to /; but I'm bored so yeah..

yeah.... ..

..

I've never been a greenday fan and their are better songs with the same message of jesus of suburbia. But I guess i like harder stuff. As one great man put it, "greenday became a forerunner for punk music then quickly smashed it into the ground"

P.S. I hate that 5 point thing too....Grrrrrrr

Well I liked the original Green Day, you were probably too young to like their first albums. I think their latest CD was awful and they have become sell outs giving in to the pop-rock genre so they can make money off the teen girls, instead of catering to their loyal and original fans. I wasn't a loyal fan or anything, but I know there are plenty of people they pissed off.

my son is a guitarist...he says Green Day is totally overrated and not talented....he basically said they are suitable for a 11-13 year olds.....

I will admit to singing some of their tunes...but he claims I have no taste in music because I like all the old classic rock groups....

he listens to Atreyu and stuff like that....I can't even think, he went to the warped tour....

I am 28 now. When I was 16 in high school my mom got me tickets to see Green Day (I was obsessed with them, I was in love with Mike) at the Grand Olympic Auditorium in Hollywood and after the show I got back stage and I got to meet and hang out with them. We talked and took lots of picture and they gave me signed t-shirts. I was in heaven. Then when I was 18 they were playing at the Palace in Hollywood and again I got back stage and got to meet them for the second time. I brought the pictures that I had from the previous experience with me and they rememberd me and meeting me. They signed my pictures and we took more pictures and Tre wrote little messages on the back of all my pictures and Mike signed one of my pictures of me and him together and wrote Mike loves you and on the back he wrote Mike and Michelle livin in hell. Even though I am over my Green Day obsession I hold those pictures very dear to me. It has got to be the greatest experience in my life so far.
