Music suggestions? Something related to bands I already like?!

Question: Yeah yeah, I know people are going to bash my music. Well f*ck you :] anyways.

my favorite bands include:
ANGELS & AIRWAVES
blink-182 (R.I.P)
Motion City Soundtrack
The Fall of Troy
Fall Out Boy

also favorite bands that aren't as significant as the rest but are still favorites(?) include:
Box Car Racer (R.I.P)
Anatomy of a Ghost (R.I.P)
Taking Back Sunday
Glassjaw (R.I.P)
The Killers (I like their second album, Sam's Town, mostly)
Smashing Pumpkins
Nine Inch Nails
Tool
Boys Night Out
Brand New
The Cure

so yeah, I don't want to overplay the music I'm listening to, because I swear my iTunes shuffle is possessed and plays the sames songs. And two of my favorite bands had their new albums came out, and i'm tempted to listen to it on repeat but I don't wanna play it out which I usually do so...

So yeah, anyone have suggestions? new bands that are out? that are touring? are just plain good? and hasn't sucked after their first album?

yeah. k. thanks!?

I will admit that I haven't listened to their later albums in their entirity but I would check out a Canadian band...Cauterize. Their first CD "So Far from real" was released in the US. I don't think their later releases were. You chould be able to find their songs on something like limewire.

Have you ever listened to 30 seconds from Mars or Jimmy Eat World? They are both pretty good and in the same vein...sorta. What about My Chemical Romance? +44?

I won't make fun of your music as I own most of those CDs myself. :)

Well I see you like Fall Out Boy , so I'll suggest
Cobra Starship ("Kiss my sass" is a cute song) ,
Gym Class Heros,
Muse has some relatively good albums and are pretty good. The Birthday Massacre
The Fray

Listen to the radio sometimes (its unfortunately becoming arachic but you might hear a band you'll like)

Go here...

http://music-map.com

Put a band that you like into the search engine.
Other bands will configure themselves around the band that you put in the search engine. The bands that are closest to your original band will be the most similar in sound and style, the ones a little less like the original band will be further away, but all the bands that come up will be bands that you will most likely enjoy.

I know that all sounds extremely confusing, but if you follow the link above and put a band in the search engine you will see exactly what I am trying to explain to you.

hummm ....

& you probably would also.

:]

I love you and your taste in music :)

Lately, I've been in an electronica-rock phase, so if you're willing to try out a new genre, then some of these bands might be what you're looking for (they have a *). I've also mixed in some other bands that might fit your taste too:

Metro Station*
The Bravery*
Family Force 5
Shiny Toy Guns*
Morningwood*
The Medic Droid*
Hollywood Undead
Kill Hannah*
Modest Mouse
Anberlin
Matchbook Romance
+44
Muse
Guster
Paramore
One Republic
Rock Kills Kid
Say Anything
Jimmy Eat World

...I could go on forever. If you want more details and/or specific songs, send me an e-mail and I'll reccommend a few!

If you like The Cure, check out The Church. Their first few albums sound kinda similar, albeit a bit more jangle-pop/psych influenced and less gothy/dancy. "Seance" is an amazing album, as is "Starfish".

For Smashing Pumpkins... check out Catherine. The drummer, Kerry Brown, was actually married to D'arcy (Pumpkins original bassist) and Billy Corgan produced their first EP. The album "Sorry" is VERY Pumpkins-esque.

Also, as an all-around great new band I'm trying to sell people on, The Chakras: http://www.myspace.com/thechakras Listen to "Build Me A Swan" and "My Friend Yugoslavia"... I think you'll actually like them.

If you're interested in finding a whole new genre, I suggest going with industrial (same genre as NIN):

Here's some industrial bands:
Stabbing Westward
Snake River Conspiracy
Apoptygma Berzerk
Flesh Field
Mindless Faith
VNV Nation
Front Line Assembly
Velvet Acid Christ
16 Volt
Funker Vogt
Dope
KMFDM
etc...

Bands of other genres (alternative, goth, etc):
Silversun Pickups
Muse
Garbage
Ours
London After Midnight
Local H
Jack Off Jill
My Bloody Valentine
Lacuna Coil
Within Temptation
Placebo
Silverchair
Type O Negative
Catherine Wheel
Jesus and Mary Chain
etc...

the band fuel is awsum and so is barenaked ladies, nickelback, papa roach and 12 stones

you should try rise against! theyre one of my faves!
