I need to know what music can combat the heavy bass beat hip hop type, something!

Question: I live in a student dorm at the moment and my next door neighbour plays his music incredibly loudly and its all the same bass beat hip hop type. Myself and others have asked him repeatedly to turn it down but he looks blank says ok then ignores me and the others. So I am thinking that whenever his music goes up, so will mine, but I want to know what is the best type to play to really, really make it unpleasant to listen to not only my stuff but also corrupts his... thanks all...

do an Apocalypse Now on them and turn Wagners Ride of the Valkyries up full volume

edit:just saw your edit and I still think Wagner will do it for you. The horn section on that piece will cut through his bass no problem and theres certainly enough going on to disrupt the 'empty' sections of hiphop. I don't know what kind of music you're into but classical music which is heavy on string and horn or any operatic soprano piece will slice through hiphop like a hot knife through butter. Fact: you have more chance of hearing problems with classical music than any other genre including hiphop and metal.

any 80's rock, something like warrant "uncle tom's cabin" I play it in my car and it will shake anything around with the bass but at the same time there is so much treble that it just plain hurts your ears. gets really annoying to my neighbor who sits outside all night listening to rap in his car as loud as possible

Blue grass, Jam bands , New grass

Muse is pretty heavy on the bass if you turn it up enough, and it's brilliant music so maybe you can even convert him to that!

If not play some fogey old country hits! Like Billy Ray Cyrus' 'achy breaky heart' or Skynrd's 'free bird'. It'd be a good laugh blasting that out loud.

Buy some techno(real techno),it has a repetative bassline and will have a faster bass(ie,it will drown out hiphop).

also try some drum and bass, this has very deep basslines
which will rattle the hell out of your neighbour.

I second the classical music idea.

beethovens fifth, wagner valkyries, tchaikovsky 1812 overture
