Absolutely Not.....and you are being too kind in as much as 2 starved cats would probably be able to make harmonic sounds which is something no rapper has ever been able to accomplish. Music consists of Notes organized in a lyrical melodic composition which may be sung or played on musical instruments. Rap consists of juvenile, half-rhymed, profane words ( espousing crime, female degradation, narcotics , gangstas, pimps & hoes ) which are shouted & spit into a microphone by a rapper who usually wears a baseball hat sideways, baggy jeans falling down to his knees & untied sneakers as he/she paces back & forth across a stage - SOURCE- RAP 101

SOME of it is really good, as long as it's not repetetive and contains no unnecessary cursing and nothing about sex, drugs and crime... problem is that's what most of it consists of.

Rap seems to be a legal way to blame someone else for your problems. I can't imagine performers like BIlly Joel or Rush (with more white followers than black) deciding to make a song about their problems getting college fund money and couldn't because of WHAT they are not WHO they are and this not being a HUGE uproar. Rap as well as, Rhythm and Blues was an outlet for African-Americans to display their talent and express themselves! It was their way to show "The Man" that we do have talent!
By the way the turntable (used by DJ's in Rap music) is a prominent instrument in disco and rap!!

I've often wondered why the "c" in Rap is silent. Rap is for people who don't have the intelligence to play an instrument. I play 12 instruments. I am smart and rich. That is why I will never listen to rap!

Lol I agree. Couldn't have put it better myself. Anything that doesn't involve musical instrument shouldn't be classified as music. You can say you're playing a beat if you're tapping to the drum beat in a song, but that's not music. Nor is singing to the sound of a mixer. Rap is just poetry gone wrong.
