Go with the beat and rhythm listen to it and flow with it. No matter what you sound like and u get the basic you will do fine.

Your voice does play some part in it. Take Young Jeezy, his voice makes his lyrics sound better. If you don't have a unique voice thens its all in the deliver. If you are feeling what you are saying then others will feel it. Don't rap like you are reading from a cue card. You can't rap too fast or too slow, you might sound really awkard. Rapping takes time to make your own, but you have to make your lyrics have some type of meaning behind them, through the way you present them to people.
lyrics make a good rapper, not your tone. unless your voice is too messed up to understand, or if you sound like a girl, it aint gonna matter.

Real hip hop heads listen for good lyrics...That other ish is secondary...Now if your voice is off some high pitch ish or annoying ish maybe a hinder...but in this era of gimmick rap...it could be a plus...but work on having dope rhymes..word up
voice isn't much of a problem lyrics come first and make sure you can flow well to beats look at weezy his annoying voice and his wack lyrics every chick loves i dont get it LOLL
