Is it okay for a guy to like Maroon 5?!
Question: I'm looking for a "no." I bought the album "Songs About Jane" a while back. I have been kind of struggling with it. I don't hate it, but something about it just seems lame. They seem like they are kind of a chick band or something. What's their following like? I'm guessing it's the females.

The songs shouldn't be annoying, but for some reason they just piss me off.

so im gona be honest. i am mostly into older metal/rock, but i listen to a lot of music..just mostly older music..
in saying that i must admit i like the sound of maroon 5..
the got an 80's type sound to me (poppy)..
C'mon be a man. It's OK for a guy to like any band they want too.

alot of people do because they sound different to most mainstream rock.
they're more mellow. adam levine's voice is really cool, in my opinion.
Definately more girls out there who like them, not that I'm saying a guy can't like them. Just that I know more girls than guys who do.
absolutely...why not? i had this bf a while back that was a musician a really good one and he liked them he used to say "they play real, very good music" i don`t think it`s something wrong in a guy liking them. is it really that important? ppl don't draw rushed conclusions from the fact that someone listens to one specific band (usually)
Who cares with people think. Listen to whatever music sounds good to you. One of my favorite bands is The Culture Club, I dont care what people think.

If a guy isn't a sheep, he'd know that he can listen to whoever he wants to. It's ridiculous to think of certain bands as "chick bands". If you like the music, then like the music. Don't let someone else tell you what to like; have your own opinion. My musical taste goes from Tool to Sarah McLachlan; I have quite a few CD's that I'm not "supposed" to like, because they're "chick bands", but I don't care, because I'm not just a sheep following the flock to whoever MTV tells me is cool.
