Was Elvis a happy man?!

Question: What do you MEAN, when you use the word "HAPPY"?

Here are a few FACTS, that may HELP you, to DECIDE the answer, TO that question, for YOURSELF!

Born, in 1935, Elvis had DEVOTED parents, - who lost Elvis's TWIN BROTHER, within HOURS, of their children's BIRTHS. In FACT, that child, - registered as "JESSE GARON PRESLEY", has been classed as a "STILLBORN" baby.

For THAT reason, - amongst OTHERS, - Elvis was OVER-PROTECTED, by his MOTHER, particularly, and, - when SHE DIED, - on August 14, 1958, - Elvis was in GERMANY, with his ARMY unit, (on National Service).

I don't THINK that Elvis EVER FORGAVE HIMSELF, for the fact, that he wasn't WITH his Mother, at the end, - which, - I believe, - made him INHERENTLY UNHAPPY!

The ONLY time he SEEMED "HAPPY", in his last few years, was EITHER, when he was with his beloved DAUGHTER, LISA MARIE, - or, on STAGE, - PERFORMING to a PACKED HOUSE!

Hell yeah...he was ELVIS.

At the beginning, I'd say yes, but fame made him a prisoner inside his own world

It was obvious he had problems in his later years. I read somewhere that he became obsessed with food because of the deprivation he suffered as a child came back to haunt him when he suffered from paranoia. It was rumoured that his family was so poor that hedgehogs figured as a part of their diet!

He even became paranoid about John Lennon. He wrote to President Nixon urging him to deport Lennnon because he thought he was a communist and anti American!

Not a happy man. Died on a toilet with a cheeseburger in his hand, wearing a nappy by all accounts.

he always looked happy when he was performing and even if he wasn't, he certainly made a lot of people happy including myself and will continue to do so I am sure for many years to come

Elvis made woman happy...

XD

I think he was a lonely man.Made unhappy by the so called friends who cashed in by writing trashy books after his death when he was unable to confirm or deny anything that was written about him.

Sometimes. :-)

i think he was pretty unhappy

Yes, he was happy 'till he got divorced, after that he became obese and had health problems. But before that, He had it all, the looks, the money, the fame, heck, people literally worshiped him.

RIP Elvis.
