Do you like the Afghan Whigs?!

Question: I'm listening to them at work...any other fans?

Answers: I'm listening to them at work...any other fans?

No, I do not like the Afghan Whigs...I LOVE them!
I too got into them when Congregation came out but didn't really fall head over heals until I heard Gentlemen.

Black Love was good (not as phenomenal as Gentlemen) but I sensed that Greg was itching for a change. by the time 1965 came out I was already in a heavy faze of punk and ska music.

Greg's side project The Twilight Singers didn't really do anything for me but I recently bought his solo release and it's very reminiscent of the old days of the Whigs. Highly recommend any Whigs fan check it out.

I've been a fan of the Whigs since Congregation first came out and had the opportunity to see them twice back in the day. I still listen to Congregation fairly often and Gentleman and the What Jail Is Like E.P. from time to time. I should get into their later albums but at that time my tastes changed a little and I fell away from them for a while. The only thing of their later work I know is the song Crazy which a friend of mine put onto a mixed tape (great song by the way). Good band and Greg Dulli's voice is out of sight. I tried to get a guy I was working with a little (much younger) into them a little this year but he could not get into them. Then again, I could not get into his screamo either. Oh well, his loss.

*Thanks Buzzkill, I'll have to check out the solo stuff.

what is Afghan Whigs

The Whigs are an excellent band that unfortunately was lumped in with the alterna-rock groups of the mid-90's. They were much deeper than most of those bands. If you're in the Southland - Greg Dulli owns the Shortstop bar in Echo Park and will spin on some nights.

I liked afghan But idon't like afghan Wighs.
