I want to settle this once and for all. why do most rappers dislike rock music?!
Question: i used dislike cause hate is too harsh. please tell me. i won't get mad at any of ya'lls answers. not everyone who listens to rock is emo and not every song has screaming and talks about suicide. so why do some of ya'll think that?

lol for the same reason that people that like pop dont like punk-rock and blues dont like country- if that makes any sense : p There really isnt a reason why different people like different music. My biggest hint of what people like are their personalities- most upbeat people either like pop, punk, rock or even rap (remember kayla (the blonde one) from last year or so yeah she liked rap and it surprised the heck out of me) mostly because of its fast pace and calm, mellow people tend to like either country or evanescence-ish type and because of crappy days and moods people listen to music that suits it (for ex. i refuse to listen to happy music in mornings- im too cranky to try) and thats why people like different music and i personally have a preferance for punkrockish mostly cause i liked it longest and mostly everything else came later so that may be the case for some people- they stick to one genre thoroughly. think of how you think to rock and dont like rap its just the same. personally idk i dont really care for rap enev though i really dont see it as a stereotypical thing like i know that not everything rap is sex related but i still dont like it. i may just not have opened up to it enough idk but i dont really think you'll ever get a straight answer for this unless someone atcually sits down and write down all the components that make up each genre then compare them but im oo lazy to do that so :p
cos rock is the exact opposite of rap .
does it matter? just listen to what u like and dont worry if other people dont like the same music as you

Why would they be hating like that when rap and rock are at least distant cousins when it comes to music genre, and some rappers adding a rock beat to their songs as well, actually quite a few of them are, so I don't see where the hate is.
well technically as rappers we cannot dislike Rock because we are looked at the same
we are both rebels and we both came under fire with the content of our music.
Rock is like our opposite cousin. so to dislike rock is like disliking ourselves. but it all comes type to the individuals liking but, you can pass me a LP or Korn album any day.
I didn't know,I mean yeah there are a few close minded dicks out there,but if anything I think these 2 genre's are merging,for example,Shop Boyz had a song called rockstar,Then Ludacris,and Chamillionaire,and Lil John,talkin about the lifestyle,of a rockstar.Then Rockers made remixes of Soulja Boys Crank That,the emo,screamo,and heavy metal versions.If anything it isn't a hatred,but a merging,of the two most popular genre's of today.
I dont Dislike rock.. its just not my favorite genre.
Its ok to like Rap and Rock, theres nothing wrong with that..

Most rappers dont dislike rock. now look at lil wayne, juelz santana, dipset, rkelly they all have songs with rock beats and or with the artists. kid rock has a song with r-kelly and some one else. look at travis barker with his remixs of soulja boy, throw somes ds and other songs. maybe in the past but not ne more
Rappers are psst that a song like I Still Kill gets changed to I Still Will (50 Cent), while there Rock bands called The Killers and Britneys fat @$$ comes back with I'm Britney B!tch. It racism of music.
Same reason why a lot of rock people dislike rap. Just different style, different taste in music.
This isn't true in all cases though. Look at Jay-Z and Linkin Park, they tore it up together. Personally I like rock a lot more, but I like some rap too. Its just really different and people have different tastes, thats what I believe it boils down to.
