I would recommend Tupelo Honey or Into The Mystic........you could also try Them (which Van was a member of).....they're garage rock, but great

Maybe you should start with Them which was the band van Morrison was in before he went solo. The Angry Young Them is amazing and Gloria is a very popular song that you might want to try out. Them Again is also really good.
Van Morrison albums..... try saint Dominic's Preview, very eclectic sound. A Period of Transition is also amazing.
