Anyone know how Johnny Horton Died?!
Question: The Caveman is pretty darn close on this one. He died in a head on collision near the Texas town of Milano. The driver of the other car was a 17 year old and he was drunk. He had played the Skyline Club in Austin and was going back home to Shreveport, Louisiana where he lived. The ironic thing in this is that both he and Hank Williams Sr had played the Skyline as their last paying gig before their deaths. I have been on that highway since then and old timers say it's about 10 miles or so out of town. Johnny wasn't killed instantly but died enroute to the hospital. I didn't google this and I would like to see The Caveman get the points because he was pretty close.

Johnny Horton reportedly had experienced premonitions several months before his own death about the possibility of dying in a car crash caused by a drunk driver. He always said that if he was in a head-on situation to drive into the ditch. His accident took place on a bridge so there was no ditch to head for.
