Journey - Escape and Captured (Captured is a live album, and actually, I like the songs on it better)
Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers - Damn The Torpedos

Some individual songs from our generation:
Robert Palmer - Addicted To Love, Bad Case Of Loving You
Styx - Renegade (came out about 1979 or 1980, I believe)
Bob Seger - Old Time Rock & Roll
Bad Company - Rock & Roll Fantasy (actually, it's from 1979, but the album, 10 from 6, was released in 1984, I believe)
Whitesnake - Here I Go Again
John Waite - Missing You
Def Leppard - Pour Some Sugar On Me
Heart - Barracuda, Straight On For You
Pat Benatar - Love Is A Battlefield
Don't Look Back - Boston
Billy Squier - The Stroke
Pink Floyd - Another Brick In The Wall (this actually came out when I was in Junior High rather than High School)
Stevie Nicks - Stand Back (Phil Collins played drums and Prince did the keyboards in a couple of her songs during that time period)
Billy Idol - Eyes Without A Face
ZZ Top - Sharp Dressed Man (the Elimator album ... it was a really big hit ... my son (14) loves the street rod, fuzzy guitars and the beards) www.zztop.com

Breakfast in America (Supertramp) was another good album but before 1984, as was Peter Frampton Live.

I did in 1983. Michael Jackson Thriller was huge-maybe the biggest ever. Prince Purple Rain, Pretenders Learning to Crawl, REM Reckoning, Bruce Springsteen Born in he USA, Metallica Ride the Lightning, CArs Heartbeat City. U2 Unforgettable Fire, Don Henley Building the Perfect Beast.

Tina Turner - What's Love Got to Do with It.
Cyndi Lauper - Time After Time

Try these links.

Don't forget
Deep Purple - Perfect Strangers
Scorpions - Love at First Sting
The Smiths - The Smiths
Metallica - Ride the Lightning

I know that Smiths album doesn't really fit the hard rock theme of the other selections but it is great.
