Classic Country Music Fans--Lead guitar players?!

Question: Country music legends depend on their lead guitar player to give them a great sound. Who is your favorite lead guitar player and for whom did he play? What makes this person stand out in your mind?

I'm partial to that "Bakersfield" sound, so I'm going with Don Rich, (great harmony too)

My cousin Duane Eddy

Not a household name to be sure -but- consider Brent Mason. He is the guitarist for Nashville's "A Team," a fist call group of musicians who are responsible for 95% of the backing tracks you hear.

Who has he played with ? Virtually EVERY star (or near-star) that ever recorded in Music City.

Alan Jackson was quoted some years ago as saying..."This guy (Brent) isn't human."

Grab a dozen C&W CDs at random and look at the credits. He's almost always on the session.

By the way.....about 10 years ago Brent was "sitting in" at a Nashville honky-tonk and Chet Atkins along with George Benson came to see him......they "shook there heads" in amazment - that's quite a tribute !!

In the world of country there is still none better than Albert Lee. This for me is a no brainer. His technique and influence is amzing. Unfortunately in our world people would rather worship Eric Clapton than a real musician

hands down the Perkins Brothers
carl and luther recorded so many great great songs on the sun label. both of these guys had a simplistic style, but each note rung huge. amazing guitarists.
