I thought it was all a drug refrence since thats how the lyrics look like but I found this interview with Chicane about it.
"Who are you talking about on the track?
No-one in particular it could be a hamster or a donut really. It’s not a lyrically meaning full track. ‘I’m stoned in love but not with you’ but it’s not taken from true life experience. Lyrics are important to me but melody always comes first. I wanted lyrics that stood out more than ‘I love you, you left me, I’m so sad’. I tried to find the right sort of lyrics that would set the sound right. This wasn’t an ‘I got stoned one night, upset about you leaving me type of thing’. It’s funny everyone sort of came to me expecting this huge drug reference."
