Whenever I sing, the back of my head down to my nape aches. Does that mean I am !

Question: I get air from my diaphragm.

Answers: I get air from my diaphragm.

you are probably holding your head and shoulders too stiffly. this can happen unconsciously. if you have access to a full-length mirror, practice in front of it, and watch how you hold yourself. A good posture is a must for good singing, as it allows not only the body to be in the best alignement, but also allows the most freedom of movement and activity for all the muscles of breathing as well as all the muscles of singing found in the throat.
Most books on singing will stress the need for good posture, so you'll read about it everywhere. You need to train your awareness to pay attention to this area, even while you are busy with singing. (We slip into such errors by not paying attentnion to the problem zones)
Practising balance and posture ( as in dance class or yoga) will help you become more aware of what you can do, and what you can avoid doing.

Singing properly shouldn't cause a person pain. Why don't you look for a good voice teacher? A teacher can help you learn how to sing in a way that you can get the best sound and avoid damage to your voice.

This one is new to me. When singing you sould always stand or sit up straight. It's what I like to call "Creating Space". In other words, making more room for air. That helps you to sing from your diaphragm better. Good luck to you
