Yeah Doyle was one of the great Buckaroos, along with Merle Haggard and Johnny Russell - i thought he was also a pretty good bass player. Buck Owens is still my favorite, but Doyle was pretty good.
Favorite song - maybe Queen of the Silver Dollar, although I love his version of Tiger By the Tail.
I like his version of Excuse Me, (I Think I've Got A Heartache.) Wasn't he one of the Buckaroos at one point or something?
I know he had a solo career after workin' with The Buckaroos, but I'm not familiar with any hits.
We lost our friend not too long ago. He was a hell of a bassist & guitarist .
