Classic Country Music Fans--Tex Ritter?!
Question: There are a few singers who do recitation songs but I think Tex Ritter did some great ones. What are some of your favorite Tex Ritter songs and if you don't mind why are they your favorites?

Hillbilly Heaven is by far my favorite. The reason for this is because when I was a little kid, first discovering country music, my dad had one of those wonderful Capitol 2-album compilations that had Wynn and Charlie and Ray Pillow and Hank Thompson and all of them on it. I remember really liking that song because I learned what artists were worthy of mention from listening to it.
I'll pick High Noon for my second choice. Frankie Laine did it, but Tex sure did it better. :)

The way he used his "deck of cards", as not only a bible, but a path to the rightous way to living life
