If Hendrix was alive, do you think he could have played the guitar in "Free!

Question: I doubt it

Answers: I doubt it

I never heard anything terribly complex in Free Bird, so I don't understand the question; maybe you should clarify which guitar part you mean if you aren't implying all three parts

I imagine ANY guitarist could play the parts to Free Bird ... even if you love the song, look at it unbiased from a technical point of view

he could have, but would you recognize it as the same song?

Yeah if he was an idiot.

Sure he could have, he was brilliant. Why do you "doubt it"? I'm curious.

All 3 parts at once. FREE Bird is not difficult at all.

Undoubtedly...but he has a different style, why would he is the better question

he probably could have played it backwards, upside down, and with his teeth..
hendrix was amazing.. and free bird isn't as difficult as people make it out to be..

why would you even put him the same sentence....please, lets get serious

He could have played half of it. Because Freebird was all about the twin guitars. By the way, Ronnie Van Zant was a much underrated frontman and singer in my opinion.

Of course!

Certainly not by Himself, not even Hendrix is THAT good.
I'd like to hear Jimmy Page, Jeff Beck, & Eric Clapton play the three guitar parts in it myself.

*Edit*
There is absolutely no way that ANYBODY could play all thre parts of Freebird by themselves people, get realistic.
And Freebird is one of the greatest rock guitar overtures of all time, period and end of discussion.
Cold Hard Fact

Please.

Of course. but, as stated would not be recognizable as the same song.

Cmon people think that freebird is just the best but its not i agree that it is a really great song (one of the greatest) but it doesnt have an amazing guitar solo it just sounds cool

He could have, but he wouldn't.

sure he could! he was like amazing. it would probably sound different thought.
