Does anybody think that George Strait should have won Male Vocalist instead of B!

Hmmm.......it's hard because they are both awesome singers. George Strait has been around for a much longer time so he probably deserves it too. Brad Paisley is also good, but a much newer singer. So I don't know. They both are so good!
Personally, I was for George too. However, CMA politics almost required that Brad get "the nod." George Strait has reached virtual "legend status," and has (deservedly) won more awards that even he can probably count !!
And..as you said, radio play and $$ generated have a great influence on the voting members of the CMA (refer to CMA politics above !!)
Two things I'd like to add.........
While Brad Paisley is unquestionably a fine singer, his guitar playing is his real "forte'." Without that added value, he may have been overlooked by Nashville, based on his vocal ability alone.
And.....although I hold Garth Brooks in high esteem, George Strait should have won Entertainer of the Decade a few years back. Even Garth said as much when he accepted his award.

Yes, I think ol' George should have gotten it. But then again, I think Taylor Swift should not have gotten the Horizon award, but the CMA didn't agree with me there, either.
In that he should have received the honor,it is my opinion,that you have stated a true and real fact,I will not be watching next year,it's a farce,my opinion only.
*I agree that the voters are ignoring the singers that have been around for awhile! It is politics all the way* I long for the days when the radio stations played a nice mix of current & oldies! A couple of nights ago I had the radio tuned to our local country station & they played one song three times in less that three hours! Sounds like someone is being bribed.. ohoh! I also would have liked to see George Strait win*
I also think George should have won. I like Brad Paisley, too, but I really think that George is the better singer.

George Strait gets my vote. GB may have summed it up best in his answer about nashville politics. Its not always really about the best. Just the most popular at the moment.

Nope. I personally think George Straight is one of the most boring entertainers ever.
