Where does the comparison between LeBron James and Lil Wayne come from?!

Question: "the mike jordan of recording"-Jay-z << i could see the argument, but Lil Wayne = the LeBron James...how do u figure? these two just seem so different to even bring a reasonable comparison

-as a rookie, LBJ was being hyped as the next great player-highly anticipated...there was no real hype for lil wayne, no comparisons to any other great rappers

-LeBron had an instant impact in the NBA, ie; rookie of the year, also set numerous scoring records (as far as youngest to score 40, 50 points, etc.)..lil wayne- like the 1st statement, had no real impact, no jaw dropping feats.

-'Bron took his team to the championship in just his 4th year..lil wayne is arguably having his 1st "championship worthy" season this year, but he's 10 years deep in the game

after reading those 3 examples, and then thinking about it, the only comparison i see between these two is that they are both in a league where numerous players/rappers are better than them..and the fact that they came in young

Yeah, it started with Jay-Z saying "I'm the Mike Jordan of mic recording". I guess since Jay and Mike Jordan both are aging, Jordan in some people's eyes passed the throne to Lebron. When Wayne started calling himself the greatest rapper alive he implied that the throne had been passed to him just as Jordan passed it to Lebron. Also I heard Wayne say in a freestyle that "if he's [Jay-Z] Jordan, I must be LeBron James" . So thats most likely where it came from.

They are both black and in their twenties.

well they are both good in what they do and young

Ive never really heard that about Lebron and Lil Wayne....I have heard of Kanye and Lebron...Cause Kanye got hot about the time Lebron got into the league... On a song that Kanye is on...I forgot what its called...he says..."Who's the rookie of the year, me or Lebron James".

Within the past 2 years, I have heard many people state that Lil Wayne is now among the best in the rap game. I must admit that I was a little surprised by this because I envision the Lil Wayne of the 1990s, but recent lyrics are pretty good.

I am more of a Tupac type of chic, but I can see why he is so popular.

I dont either... I guess its just him TRYING to be something by saying it enuff...The comparison cant be justified...except for the fact that they are young in the game. Dat bout all...i can think of..lmao
