Should there be a seperate section for real hip hop heads?!

Question: Im not sayin a section where all you talk about is Common and Talib, but a section where people who want to discuss significant issues in hip hop beyond the "Is ciara dating 50?" and the "What does (insert word here) mean?".

Its really annoying that everytime I click this section the top questions are ridiculously stupid. I'm sure its not stupid to everyone but it would be nice if the "I have a black friend and a Will Smith cd" people had their own section to post their questions about souljah boy.

My bad if it sounds like im hating...
Anyone else feeling me?

Yea, that would be nice lol... we wouldnt have to endure every other question being "what are some new rap songs?" and "is hip hop dead?"

  • No, there's enough section already.

    Hell no

Nobody really has the right to say what "Real" hip hop is or isn't. This section is for hip hop music and hip hop related questions/events.

I don't see why this is a big issue for you, you only have 209 points you obviously don't come on here that often.

    yup i feel you

    yes definately

Just because you have your own opinion about what real hip hop is doesn't mean you are hating. I share the same opinion that you do. Nobody wants to hear about the same stuff over and over in songs, such as dance moves. Souljah boy had a lot of time on his hands to create a dance and then use some of the same stuff in his other song Souljah Girl.

However, Kanye West, Common, and Talib actually have something to talk about through their music, though they aren't the only ones. Hip hop was created to express your opinions and show your individuality. Not to continue to produce stupid poppy sounding songs to line dance to.

No their just different styles in one genre. Get Used to it. In 5 years rap will be more maninstream than ever. Wu-Tang, Nas, Saigon, Styles P, and Scarface on dropping in December and most people in the mainstream don't even kno.

I think it'd be better if there was an underground hip hop section. Lil' wayne questions get 83654635 answers. But if you ask anything on an underground artist you'll be lucky to get one answer that doesn't consist of 'whose that' or 'do you speak english' =/

If your going to separate the section that is one of the stupidest ways you could separate it. Yahoo Answers is ultimately not about the people who answer the questions anyway. Besides, how do we decide what a real issue is? Whatever YOU think it is? Way too subjective, and no offense, but it sounds like you are very biased already. An underground/mainstream split would be better, but even that is stupid because who are we to decide what is underground and what is mainstream. I'm sure there are still some people who still think Talib Kweli and Common are underground, which is just incorrect.
